Dismissed in a restructuring: with severance already paid, is there still a claim

Severance, pay in lieu of notice, and damages for unfair dismissal are three separate sums resting on different statutes. Receiving the first two therefore does not answer the question about the third. The Supreme Court accepts restructuring as an adequate reason, but the restructuring has to be real and the selection of who goes has to follow some criteria.

Can a chat replace a loan agreement: LINE, Messenger and the three requirements that decide it

A chat message, whether on LINE, Messenger, Instagram or any other channel, can satisfy the written-evidence requirement for a loan under Section 653 of the Civil and Commercial Code, read together with the Electronic Transactions Act. But the Supreme Court has made clear that qualifying as writing and bearing a signature is not enough: the words themselves must show that the money was lent.

Foreigners Setting Up a Company in Thailand: Real Limits and Workable Routes

The Foreign Business Act B.E. 2542 (1999) does not bar foreigners from doing business in Thailand. It defines who counts as a foreigner, sorts activities into three schedules, and sets out who may grant permission for each. This article works through the statutory half-of-capital threshold, the three schedules, the minimum capital rule in Foreign Business Act, Section 14, and the legitimate routes available: a Foreign Business Licence, BOI promotion, and treaty-based entry.
